Artificial Reef Habitat
This project is very close to my heart and helped me learn and understand the importance of our environment, ocean, and animal habitat on a much deeper level. This project also inspired me to think about how I can reduce my own waste or use different materials that are better for the environment both in my artwork and design.
This project was in collaboration with peers from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Emily Carr University, as well as Ocean Wise from the Vancouver Aquarium. Over the course of just over a year, we collaborated as a team to create designs that would be appropriate for increasing the lifespan of local rockfish in Howe Sound. We worked with marine biologists, ocean wise staff, Lafarge and a dive team to complete this project.
